Re-Railing and Recovery
RAILWAY SUPPORT SERVICES has a full set of MFD hydraulic re-railing equipment with which we are able to respond to de-railments in a timely manner to lift, slew and re-rail derailed locomotives, coaches, wagons or indeed any railway vehicle.
Over the next few pages there are a selection of photographs showing our equipment in use lifting a variety of steam and diesel locomotives, coaches and wagons in a variety of different locations.
We have worked with numerous companies ranging from the preserved/heritage railways through to main line operators as well as private container terminals.
As well as being used for the re-railing of derailed vehicles, the jacks are suitable for lifting locomotives, coaches and wagons to allow for inspections and wheelset/bogie changes. Railway Support Services have in stock a wide range of lifting brackets for a variety of different locomotives rangingg from Class 31s, 37s and 47s to 56s, 58s and 66s.
